UAE’s newest satellite launched successfully

“Yahsat, a UAE-based satellite communications company, said it had successfully launched its first satellite into orbit Saturday. The launch puts the UAE among a select group of nations that have done so. Yahsat has commissioned two satellites to create regionally-focused capacity to manage the expanding requirements for government, commercial and consumer satellite communication services..”

World Gold Council to shut down UAE office

“The World Gold Council (WGC) will shut its office in the UAE next week due to a strategic review of their operations, it said on Wednesday. “We recently carried out a strategic review of our operations and while there are significant opportunities in the UAE, we do not currently have the appropriate critical mass there to maximise them, nor can we deploy the necessary resources,” said the statement..”

UAE set to be Iraq’s top Gulf trade partner

“Some 235 e-crimes described as “online scams or electronic pirating” were reported in Abu Dhabi last year, Abu Dhabi Police has said.  They include various forms of online scams, theft of bank accounts and credit cards and selling of illegally recorded phone calls..”
